Rumor: Warriors Dangling JRich and Adonal Foyle for Allen Iverson
SI.com's Marty Burns breaks down where Allen Iverson might land in Going Places: Analyzing where Iverson may land -- and how quickly. Here's what matters most to Warriors Nation:
Moving JRich the heart and soul of the Warriors along with Adonal Foyle the longest-tenured Warrior and the face of the franchise? Now that's a blockbuster deal of epic proportions! The rest of the hoops world probably won't see it that way, but for Warriors Nation it's a major, major move.
You have to wonder why the 76ers would want to trade for JR right now. No doubt, he's a flat out stud, but wouldn't you take a wait and see approach with his knee? Jason is a high-flyer and right now a lot of his game is dependent on his uber-athleticism. But hey, we're talking about the front office from an Atlantic Division team. Anything's possible.

The Warriors are playing a dangerous game if...
J-Rich and Foyle is a joke of epic porportions.
J-Rich and Murphy is more feasible, and better in the longrun for this squad.
Billy King is not NUTS.
There would be a riot in the streets of Philly if they traded their franchise for J-Rich, and Adonal freakin Foyle!

Not my cuppa
So, from a BBall perspective, an AI trade does little for me -- he's just NOT what the team really needs -- but from a cap perspective, it could work. (Tho if I were King, I'd rather have Megette, Livingston and whoever from the Clips -- and that trade's on the table, too, it appears.)
If the W's deal either AB or Monta, though, that'll be it for me. They have to keep that future if they're ever going to dig out of this hole.

kings just pulled out of the running
The Sacramento Kings are out of the Allen Iverson derby.
``We're staying away,'' Kings co-owner Joe Maloof said in a telephone interview with Scott Soshnick. ``We're not going forward.''
Maloof did not cite a reason why they will not be exploring a trade for the former Most Valuable Player.
i love AI but we need a big man more than him...my only hope is that we could use AI in another trade later for that big

monta?

I think you're kinda right about this one
On the other hand, you have P.J. Brown, loyal to the tam, great defensive pressure, and rebounds. But what did he have on offense? Boring 12-Foot jumpers with an occasional Layup/Dunk. How many P.J. Brown Jerseys have I seen? One. An old guy was wearing it. You see more (when he was still here) CHARLOTTE Hornets Jerseys than you did P.J. Brown Jerseys.
Monta is overhyped.

no
I've always loved Iverson's game and heart but i don't think JR (+ contracts and scraps) for Iverson makes sense. Iverson and BD can score, but to get decent numbers (+25 points) they both require lots of shots. having two volume shooters on one team isn't a good idea (especially when you don't have any pure shooters or enough low post scoring to bring up the teams shot %). also Monta and Iverson's games seem too similar to me to want both on the field at the same time. Monta+Iverson+BD = redundancy and low shot percentage. And whats that give you? BD, Iverson, Monta, Pietrus, AB? thats way too small. so is Monta a sub? i don't get it... unless they then move BD to get another piece.
Iverson for BD (+ contracts and scraps) seems to result in a better team. Monta, Iverson, JR, Pietrus, AB. its better but i still think you lack a real point guard (still not convinced Monta's a better 1 then 2) and enough rebounding/low post scoring.
honestly i don't get why GS is going for Iverson in the first place. GSs big issues are rebounding, interior defense, and offensive black outs. we need a reliable big forward (KG baby, Gasol, Bosh, Dwight Howard) to compliment AB who can get to the hole when the offense stagnates and brings hard nosed defendesr to compliment AB shot blocking but slightly soft defense. If that fials we need a Star SF who can slash, defend and rebound (Ron Artest, Al Harrington, Reshard Lewis, Paul Pierce). I like Pietrus but he's not good enough for a team without a Star PF. If you can't get a star PF or SF defender then the last GOOD option would be a star shooter (Stojakovic, Ray Allen)
my guess as to Nellie's perfered lineup -> Monta/BD/JR/Pieitrus/AB is just too small
best -> Monta/+-BD or +-JR/Pietrus/Garnet/AB is perfect but a hoop dream
2nd best -> Monta/+-BD or +-JR/Rashard Lewis or Paul Pierce/Ike/AB
3rd best -> BD/Ray Allen/JR/some defensive minded, rebounding low scoring PF/AB
i'll be at the game. as an NBA fan/ticket buyer i'm sad to see TMac isn't gonna play. as a warriors fan i'm happy.
